Bank holidays on September 14–15: what Gujarat customers should know
The RBI calendar marks September 15 for Ahmedabad, while Ganesh Chaturthi closures on September 14 apply to nine other centres. Here is how to plan branch visits and online transfers.

Planning a branch visit in Gujarat this week? The Reserve Bank of India’s September 2026 calendar shows no September 14 holiday against Ahmedabad, but marks September 15 for Samvatsari. Check your own branch before travelling; a regional calendar is not a live opening-hours service. RBI holiday matrix.
Where Monday’s holiday applies
For September 14, the matrix marks Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji and Vijayawada. The festival closure therefore varies by location. Check the applicable RBI centre.
For customers arranging paperwork, the useful question is which branch must handle the request. A Gujarat business dealing with an office in Mumbai may need to check both ends of an appointment rather than rely on a headline saying banks are closed today. Ask the branch whether the particular service needs an in-person visit and which working day it can be completed.
Online transfers have a separate timetable
NEFT operates throughout the year, including holidays, in half-hourly batches. RBI explains that customers can initiate transfers through their bank’s internet or mobile banking service; banks may set their own transaction limits. A branch holiday therefore does not by itself switch off the NEFT system. RBI’s NEFT guide.
Before an urgent transfer, check the beneficiary details and any service notice inside your bank’s official app. If a payment needs tracing, retain the transaction reference and contact the bank through its published support channel. RBI identifies the reference number and transaction details as useful information for tracking. NEFT tracking information.
For a counter visit, make a short checklist: the documents required, the staff or department handling the request, and the next available appointment. That preparation is especially useful across these two differently observed holiday dates. This calendar check was made on September 14, 2026.
