PwC US and PwC India announced a joint venture on September 13, combining PwC India's Consulting business with PwC US Advisory's India-based capabilities. Sanjeev Krishan will lead it as incoming CEO, according to PwC's company announcement.

Closing is expected in the first half of 2027, subject to conditions and regulatory approvals. Existing operating structures continue until then. Financial terms were not disclosed.

What clients should watch

Our reading of the agreement is that its practical value will depend on coordination. A client with teams in multiple countries needs a clear owner for a project, consistent standards and a way to resolve problems without being passed between offices. Bringing capabilities together can help only if those everyday arrangements work.

For Indian businesses comparing consulting partners, useful questions include who will deliver an assignment, how expertise will be shared and how responsibility will be documented. A larger combined organisation alone does not establish that a particular project will become cheaper or faster. Those outcomes need evidence from the work itself.

A transaction is not a recruitment notice

Job-seekers should look for specific advertised roles, locations and eligibility criteria before treating a corporate announcement as an opening to apply. Combining teams and creating new vacancies are different measures; a headline workforce number cannot substitute for a hiring notice.

The next useful milestones for readers are the completion announcement and concrete explanations of how the arrangement works for clients and staff. These will be more informative than assumptions about immediate changes based on the announcement alone.
